Ten years in outdoor retail management/instructing gave Jon a real passion for the environment. A short stint volunteering as a Countryside Project Officer led to a BSc in Countryside Management and thereafter various roles in the countryside, forestry and renewable energy industries. One thing they all had in common was a lot of time in front of PCs. Jon has always been good with technology, its in the blood - the childhood ZX81 is still lying around somewhere. So in 2001 he established the DLC which switched focus from environmental work with computers to Computers working for the Environment. The DLC now works all over the UK for a wide variety of prestigious clients, most of whom are involved in the environment sector.

We work with a range of associates who can provide services such as Mapinfo support and training, EIA, ecological & tree surveys, photo montage and ZVI analysis, web design and outdoor management training.

The DLC operates to a strong ethical and environmental belief. We are not driven by profit but rather in producing tangible environmental benefits through our work. Ecotricity provide our power and we recycle nearly all our waste.
